ACCO examinations

Four times per year those who have attended SkinCancerOnly or ACCO workshops will be invited to complete their Australasian College of Cutaneous Oncology (ACCO) certification by sitting an on-line examination. This option is an added cost to that of the workshop. Signed certification will be forwarded to all successful candidates. All questions are multiple choice format. Exams icon.png

Exam schedule for 2012:

  • February 11 & 12 weekend - Completed
  • May 5 & 6 weekend - Completed
  • August 4 & 5 weekend
  • November 3 & 4 weekend

Candidates select a weekend and an option of time ranges to log on, submit their user details and password (provided) and complete the ACCO exam. You can register as a user of the ACCO web site by clicking on login on bottom right of this page. An option to register is demonstrated.

The links to enter the exam site below will be made available to registered users for the duration of the examination only. The link to the exam section will no longer be available once the allocated time has expired. Each exam involves numerous pages. Candidates complete and submit each page before proceeding to the next component. Once you press the "submit" button on each page you will be automatically forwarded to the next page. You cannot go back at any stage.

All ACCO required practical skills are assesed during the workshops themselves. The on line exams following courses will assess knowledge of skin cancer management theory and lesion recognition.

The standard set for these ACCO examinations has been developed over many years by doctors in Australia and New Zealand as well as dermatologists in USA. The ACCO was founded in 2006.

CERTIFICATE

The ACCO authorised Certificate in Primary Skin Cancer Medicine exam includes 2 components. The first component involves 60 skin cancer management theory multiple choice questions. Part 2 involves 36 clinical images with the diagnosis being required as the answer. 24 of these images are clinical photographs. Finally there are 12 dermoscopic images. All questions are multiple choice format.

There are 96 questions in all and the time allowed is 120 minutes. Exam cost = $150

DIPLOMA

The ACCO authorised Diploma in Skin Cancer Surgeryon-line exam includes 4 components. The first section examines skin cancer management theory with 146 multiple choice questions. Part 2 includes 24 dermoscopic images with the diagnosis being required as the answer. Part 3 includes 24 clinical photographic images requiring a diagnosis. Part 4 includes 6 histology photomicrographs. All questions are multiple choice format. Remember, as you click to submit each page you will be forwarded to the next page and cannot go back.

There are 200 questions in total and the time allowed is 240 minutes. Exam cost = $250

DERMOSCOPY

The ACCO authorised Certificate in Advanced Dermoscopyexam includes 2 components. The first component involves 78 dermoscopy images with multiple choice questions. Part 2  involves 18 dermatopathology photomicrographs that must be matched with described dermoscopic features.

There are 96 questions in all and the time allowed is 120 minutes. Exam cost = $150
